was founded in 1961 in California and then relocated to Hawaii in 1967, where it has been in continuous operation since that time. DDL is a full services mechanical contractor encompassing the entire spectrum of new construction and mechanical service. Sunetric is the largest locally owned and operated full-service renewable energy firm in Hawaii. The Gas Company makes synthetic natural gas (SNG) for their utility customers from a byproduct of petroleum refining. THeir process utilizes recycled wastewater to produce hydrogen, a renewable component, which accounts for about 5% of the SNG produced. The Gas Company is in the process of developing other sources of gas, such as biomethane, a renewable gas from animal or vegetable oil sources and from landfill waste to add to their utility gas, further increasing its renewable content. The company intents to grow the renewable/sustainable portion as must as 50% by 2015 helping Hawaii meet its goals for renewable energy and helping the entire world community.
