Every year the demand for publicly accessible material ingredients and related environmental and health impact grows, prompting the need for wide-spread market transformation in manufacturing. This course explores LEED v4 Materials and Resources credit changes, addressing leading frameworks in material transparency and the benefits and challenges associated with product disclosure. Environmental and Health Product Declarations (EPDs and HPDs) are defined and assessed, while building case studies provide real-world context.

Presenter:   Alicia Snyder-Carlson

Alicia is a Senior Consultant who has developed her working knowledge and expertise of the evolving LEED rating system over the past 6 years, with personal involvement in or directly managing over 100 LEED certifications. While focusing on the LEED-CI and LEED-CI retail systems, she has also managed LEED-EB: O+M and LEED Volume Certification projects. She has worked on both national and international projects, with a wide-ranging client roster that includes Nike, Autodesk, Columbia Sportswear, the State of Hawaii, Asante Healthcare, Bank of America, Shore Bank Pacific, PG&E, the Moda Center, University of California Davis, and Bentall Kennedy projects in the United States and Canada. Additionally, Alicia contributed to the development of the LEED 2009 Reference and Study Guide development.
