What we do
The USGBC Hawaii Chapter Advocacy Committee continue advocates for sustainable building practices to be accepted within Hawaii’s regulatory environment. This effort involves both the legislative and administrative environments of the State.
Legislative interaction will involve continuous dialogue with key lawmakers who share a passion
for sustainable building implementation. Administrative interaction is a heavily-involved process consisting of regular attendance at the State Building Code Council (SBCC) regular meetings and investigative committee meetings. The SBCC meetings provide a forum where many of the building industry stakeholders gather along with county building officials to move forward updates to the building codes.
